SAMMY McILROY is set to promote Rochdale's teenage sensation Pat McCourt from Spotland to Deutschland.

The Northern Ireland boss is so impressed with winger McCourt, 17, that he is in line to face Germany in an Under-21 friendly in Belfast in February.

McIlroy, 47, is excited about McCourt's potential after his performance as a substitute in the recent friendly at Nationwide Third Division strugglers Macclesfield.
