INTRODUCTION

The grafting of polar monomers onto saturated polymers has been performed intensively for a number of applications. One of the most frequently used monomers is maleic anhydride (MA), owing to the high reactivity of anhydride group in successive reactions. A number of reactions have been proposed for the grafting of MA (1). The initiation of the grafting can be either by peroxide decomposition or by thermo-mechanical radical formation.
