A bid to remove a new offence of incitement to religious hatred from emergency anti-terrorism legislation failed in the Commons last night.
Despite cross party concerns, the move to drop the new offence from the Anti-Terrorism, Crime and Security Bill was defeated by 328 votes to 209, Government majority 119.
