QUETTA, Pakistan _ A campaign by ethnic Pashtuns to pressure the Taliban into surrending Kandahar, their last southern Afghanistan bastion, appeared to gain momentum Saturday as the Taliban showed increasing cracks in their ranks.
Anti-Taliban forces also claimed to have captured strategic areas near Kandahar. The extent of the gains could not be verified, but it appeared that the area in Taliban control around Kandahar was shrinking.
But the campaign has its own challenges _ there is disagreement among the anti-Taliban Pashtuns on what to do next. They are ...
