A passion for helping students is driving Lamar High School principal Rob Liming until late each night and through the weekends.

Liming, 56, is visiting the homes of all 150 of this year's freshmen, spending 10 minutes to more than an hour with each student and his or her parents. As of Friday, Liming was at the halfway mark with 73 home visits completed.

The payoff is keeping kids from dropping out of school in this rural, southeastern Colorado town.
