The legacy of cubism
Why should we care about cubism? Has it affected our contemporary world?
It is impossible to think of modern architecture without cubism. Can you look at an album cover or a video clip or the way your magazine is designed without seeing cubism? I think the answer is no. The designers may not have ever looked at a cubist picture. But much of what they have seen is derived from cubism. The juxtaposition of instantaneous images in video and film comes from the collage principle that Picasso and Braque invented.
