THE PHOSPHATE Chemicals Export Association Inc. (PhosChem) has concluded two major new contracts for 2002 that together provide for the shipment of up to 2.4 million metric tons of diammonium phosphate (DAP) to China.

The contracts total roughly 1.9 million metric tons of firm shipments and 550,000 metric tons of optional tonnage, according to PhosChem, which says it is the largest exporter of concentrated phosphates from North America. The contracts are with China National Chemicals Import & Export Corp. (Sinochem) and China National Agricultural Means of Production Group ...
