BALLISTIC ELECTRONS MAY CREATE NEW PATH FOR COMPUTER ELECTRONICS
COLLEGE PARK, Md., Dec. 7 /PRNewswire/ -- IBM (NYSE: IBM) researchers have demonstrated for the first time that fast-moving "ballistic" electrons can be focused and steered as they travel at very low temperatures through gallium arsenide, a semiconductor material with promise for future computers.
