Greece has come up with a new approach to bringing the Elgin Marbles back to Athens. The Greek culture ministry recently announced that it has requested the Parthenon sculptures as part of a loan exchange. The goal is to borrow the works from the British Museum, where they have been ensconced since the early 19th century, and place them on display in Athens in time for the 2004 Olympic Games to be held there.
