Zapping zebra mussels with low-energy radio waves may provide an environmentally friendly way of preventing the damage done to power plants and waterways by these molluscs.

Zebra mussels are freshwater creatures that cause millions of dollars worth of damage by laying eggs in and around inlet pipes. As the larvae grow from dust-sized particles to the size of lima beans, they completely block the pipes.
