Ecuador: OCP's construction works in Quito authorized.

The local environmental commission recommended authorizing the construction of a 103-km segment of the OCP (Oleoducto de Crudos Pesados) oil pipeline over Quito. The commission, however, also recommended minimum changes to the northern route of the oil pipeline so as to reduce environmental impact. The commission claimed that Quito will not run significant water supply risks in case OCP is damaged. The 103-km oil pipeline must be completed up to 6 months before OCP starts up.
