ADOPTION OF FIRST URBAN II PROGRAMME.(Brief Article)

An Urban programme worth nearly Euro 37 million, focused on the urban renewal of the French area of Grigny/Viry-Chatillon ( 2001-2006 period) has been approved by the European Commission. Euro 12.884 million worth of EU aid is to be made available under the programme. Other contributions will be derived from the French Government, local authorities and the private sector (total of Euro 24 million). The initiative will cover a district inhabited by 37,000 people.
