DIANA VREELAND, A TRUE FASHION ORIGINAL, DIES
NEW YORK -- Diana Vreeland, whose extravagant personal style and bold professional taste made her a permanent figure on the international fashion scene for more than 50 years, died Tuesday at Lenox Hill Hospital. Cause of death was given by Alexander Vreeland, her grandson, as a heart attack.
She had entered Lenox Hill Monday night suffering from pneumonia. Vreeland had been in ill health for some time. Her signature jet-black hair had turned white and she had lost her eyesight. Although she ceased making public ...
