A tightly adhering layer of hematite that acts as an electrical insulator has been developed at LTV Steel, Cleveland, Ohio, to coat the laminations in the cores of motors, generators, transformers, and other electrical devices. The process, called InsuilKote, forms the layer during the magnetic anneal for semi-processed lamination steels.
