With their cowlicks trimmed, coats oiled to a sheen, dust vacuumed from their legs and their tails fluffed into cotton candylike poufs, the beef cattle looked delicious.
Not that these Hereford cows are destined for McDonald's.
They are breeding animals who will sire many offspring. It will be their granddaughters and grandsons who will become top round steaks and ground sirloin.
