'OUR FUTURE IS IN MERSEYSIDE' Halton breaks away from Cheshire in historic deal.(News)

THE leader of Halton Council last night said the future of the borough lies outside Cheshire, after signing a deal to link up with Merseyside's five authorities.
Coun Tony McDermott made the claim after Halton became the only authority outside Merseyside to join the Mersey Partnership.
The historic deal will see Widnes and Runcorn join a major drive to project the whole region on to the international stage.
