Sep. 6--Victoria Island Farms, a San Joaquin County asparagus grower, has agreed to pay more than a half-million dollars in back wages and has upgraded farm-worker housing in order to settle a federal lawsuit filed last year.

California Rural Legal Assistance, which filed the lawsuit against the farm and JB Farm Labor Contracting of Stockton, said that in several months, it will try to contact the between 100 and 400 farm workers who worked at Victoria Island Farms for the four years ...
