CBCP affirms firm stand against jai-alai.(Main News)

The Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines has expressed its staunch position against legalizing jai-alai operations in the country.

Msgr. Pedro Quitorio, CBCP spokesman, said the CBCP has always been firm in its stand against gambling whether legal or not simply because it is immoral, emphasizing that in these trying times when the economy is in a slump and poverty is on its ultimate rise the culture of gambling is no means the solution.
