Emission-reduction guideline now ready for ASHRAE review

VANCOUVER, B.C., Canada -- after more than a year of work, ASHRAE (American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and AirConditioning Engineers) has produced a draft version of a guideline aimed at reducing emissions of fully halogenated chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs).

Committee chairman Herbert T. Gilkey said during ASHRAE's summer meeting here that the document will be up for review, with a final version expected in time for the society's winter meeting in Atlanta, Ga.
