Council Bluffs, Neb., Community Sees Big Payoff from Gambling.

Aug. 17--The days of the derisive "Counciltucky" nickname may well be numbered.
Often viewed as an Omaha bedroom community, Council Bluffs has grown into a regional hub for business and employment in its own right during the past six years, largely because of economic benefits from its casinos, meatpacking plants and retail stores.
New money is changing Council Bluffs and surrounding Pottawattamie County and generating more tax revenue for city services and projects.
