EVERY garden should have at least one lily - and obviously the rat who nicked my prized African Queen last week agrees.

However this heartless felon, who left a huge hole in the border, also lacked brains as well as morals... lilies hate disturbance of any sort so, odds-on, it will not survive.

But if the thief is reading this, he might at least give it the best possible chance.

Lilies need a good soil and hate wint...
