A thousand athletes or more will begin arriving this weekend in Hibbing, Minn., to prove themselves a world champion. And there might not be a picnic or a back-yard barbecue in sight. The pursuit is horseshoe pitching, a motion that most everybody has attempted at a city park or family reunion one time or other in life. Just not like this.
