Consolidated Minerals Ltd (CML) of Perth has secured an option to buy Danelagh Resources Pty Ltd, a chromite producer with operations in Western Australia, for A$1.08 million. CML will also provide Danelagh with a A$2.0 million fully-secured loan. Danelagh operates the Coobina chromite mine in the Pilbara region, which has a potential capacity of 150,000 t/y. The mine began regular shipments in 1998, since when it has sold 227,000 t of chromite, mainly to China.
