Four corn-drying systems with computerized components have helped a Hawaiian farm reduce production downtime and eliminate flame-sensing errors.

A farm in Hawaii wanted to update the corn-drying process it used to develop new hybrids but faced the challenge of high humidity and warm temperatures. The Haleakala Farm, Kihei, Maui, worked with Charlie Yaeger, manager of Monsato, also in Kihei, to determine what was needed to reduce both equipment and maintenance downtime, and increase production throughput.
