Many Midwest farmers continue to struggle under heavy debt burdens, according to a new survey of agricultural lenders by the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis. In the following interview excerpts, regional economist Tobias Madden explains the state of the ag economy in the Ninth Federal Reserve District, which includes Minnesota, northwestern Wisconsin, Montana, North Dakota and South Dakota.
