Meet the Bluebeards - the Duke and Mrs. - newlyweds in Bartok's one-act opera ''Bluebeard's Castle,'' to be performed by Cincinnati Opera at 8 p.m. tonightand Saturday at Music Hall.
Yes, this is the bloodthirsty Bluebeard, known to young and old from French author Charles Perrault's ''Tales of Mother Goose'' (1697). But in Bartok's 1918 musical adaptation, his only opera, Bluebeard's bride doesn't get rescued, and the story taps more into psychology than folk tales.
