In 1876, Alexander Graham Bell invented the telephone, right?
Today, that's an accepted fact, but in the 1870s, the answer wasn't as clear. A Highland Park man, by the name of Elisha Gray may have been the true inventor of the telephone.
Elisha Gray (1835-1901) was born and raised on a farm in Barnesville, Ohio. At college, he became fascinated with electricity and in 1867 received a patent for an improved telegraph relay.
