As frequent rains and warmer temperatures arrive, you can count on powdery mildew being close behind. This is a disease caused by one of several closely related fungi. It attacks scores of different vegetables and ornamental plants.
Squash, cucumbers, peas, beans and melons are all frequent victims, as are crape myrtles, roses, hydrangeas, hollies, dogwoods and euonymus.
