WILMINGTON -- Native Americans say that books and movies are starting to offer a more realistic view of their lives.

Priscilla Jacobs doesn't take long to topple myths and stereotypes about Native Americans. She is the chief of the Waccamaw-Siouan tribe in Columbus County. She lives next door to New Hope Baptist Church, which she attends regularly.
