Just below the 38th parallel in South Korea, two men's lives came together in late 1950 - just as it seemed they were falling apart for good.
Rondal Hubert Atkinson Jr. of Greensboro, who died Friday, was captured in South Korea at the outset of the Korean War. He was serving in the Army as a photographer at the time he was captured.
