Dawn Morris was not happy to learn that six months of construction on Interstate 471 kicked off today on the Daniel Carter Beard Bridge.

''You mean, another construction project?'' asked Ms. Morris, assistant general manager of the Comfort Suites on Riverboat Row in Newport.

The hotel sits across the street from I-471 entrance and exit ramps. Twice a week, Ms. Morris drives her 2-year-old son from their home near the hotel to her parents' home in Colerain Township, Ohio, then returns to go to work.
