NEW YORK _ You were born of two egos, built of 10 million bricks. You've been toasted as an architectural gem. Climbed by King Kong. You've gracefully hosted romances and rendezvous, both NOIR and real. You've weathered bigger, taller buildings but endured, amazed, inspired. And rarely since opening May 1, 1931, have you closed your doors on adoring fans, more than 25,550 days and counting.

Happy Birthday, Empire State Building. Thanks for 70 years of memories.
