Mark Twain made some interesting observations about a lot of things, including a pair of the better-known field crops grown commercially in the central San Joaquin Valley.
When the Fresno County Department of Agriculture announced that workers started harvesting cabbage and cauliflower in Valley fields last week, we immediately thought of Twain's description of cauliflower as "cabbage with a college education."
