About 10 percent of the Iranian population practices Sunni Islam, while Shia Islam, the country's official religion, is practiced by about 89 percent of the population. In mid-April, some 30 Iranian parliamentarians noted their dissatisfaction that the Ministries of Education and of Foreign Affairs are failing to provide employment opportunities for the country's Sunnis, "Hayat-i No" reported.
