MARCIANO: NAKASHES ENTERED GUESS MARK IN SOME LANDS

LOS ANGELES -- Georges Marciano, chairman and president of Guess, Inc., testified that the Nakash brothers, whom he and his brothers are suing over ownership of the firm, had registered the Guess trademark in some countries without the Marciano's knowledge.

Marciano, who was called to the stand Monday afternoon for the second time in the 10-week trial, said Guess planned in 1983 to register the Guess trademark in many foreign countries but that officials could not do that "overnight."
