POTOMAC RIVER FLOW IN JUNE NEARLY TWICE THE AVERAGE

RESTON, Va., June 30 /PRNewswire/ -- The Potomac River, fueled by heavy rains in both May and June, flowed at nearly twice the long-term average in June, U.S. Geological Survey hydrologists said Friday.

Freshwater inflow to the Chesapeake Bay also was nearly twice normal for June, and the water level in a ground-water well near Washington was more than two feet above average in June.
