Ankara's Appeals Court Chief Prosecutor Erol Ocal rejects former PM Necmettin Erbakan's appeal, thus finalising his one-year prison sentence for challenging the secular Kemalist regime. (The court in July upheld the prison sentence for a 1994 speech in which Erbakan criticised the fact that students open their school day by reciting nationalist Kamalist slogans and not Koranic verses.
