FOR THREE YOUNG students of the Virginia Martial Arts Center, the world of karate was discipline and defense as taught by Chesapeake's Darren M. Myers and the center's other instructors.
The horizons of that world changed Tuesday, as the young black belts traveled to Osaka, Japan. There they will match their karate with some of the best on Earth at the 1996 Seishin Kai World Tournament.
