The proposed aquarium project in Newport would be fashioned in part after the Tennessee Aquarium in Chattanooga.
City Manager Jim Parsons and Economic Development Director Laura Long will lead an entourage on a tour of the Tennessee Aquarium and neighborhoods around it during the next three or four weeks.
''I really want to see what the impact of the aquarium has been in the surrounding area,'' Parsons said Thursday.
