URBANA, Ohio -- It has been suggested that Simon Kenton was a greater pioneer than Daniel Boone but Boone had a better public-relations man.
In Ray Crain and Mike Major and other supporters here, Kenton has gained a measure of the respect he was lacking.
Today in this west-central Ohio town, a bronze statue of Kenton will be unveiled at his gravesite 113 years after the effort to honor him began.
