Fischer, graduate student, of the department of animal science at the University of Nebraska, Lincoln, in the 2001 Nebraska Swine Report, previous experiments reported in Nebraska Swine Reports have indicated that the crude protein (CP) content of diets for growing pigs can be reduced if the diets are supplemented with crystalline amino acids (lysine, tryptophan, threonine and methionine).
