To see most of Adriaen van Ostade's etchings of 17th-century Dutch country life clearly, you'll need a magnifying glass. And the Taft Museum thoughtfully supplies you with magnifying sheets called Magna-Page to enlarge the works.
Some of the 57 etchings, from the private collection of S. William Pelletier, a chemistry professor at the University of Georgia in Athens, are not much more than an inch square. But it's worth the hunching and squinting to get the full picture.
