OLDER POPULATION INCREASING COUNCIL'S WAITING LIST FOR SERVICE GROWS TOO.(NEWS)

Elderly Hamilton Countians who need services from the Council on Aging have become so numerous that some of them will be on a waiting list for five weeks.

The 222 on the waiting list are there despite the agency's receiving $12.65 million annually from a levy voters approved in 1992.

But Bob Logan, director of the Council on Aging, said that number is misleading. The waiting list fluctuates and has even disappeared at times over the past year.

The problem, Logan said, is the increase in the older population.
