COUNCIL CALLS FOR TIMELY CYCLAMATE REAPPROVAL
ATLANTA, May 16 /PRNewswire/ -- The Calorie Control Council said it looks forward to reapproval of cyclamate as soon as possible in light of reports today that the Food and Drug Administration intends to reapprove the low-calorie sweetener.
Dr. Robert Scheuplein, acting director of FDA's office of toxicological sciences, stated in a May 16 Washington Post article that FDA had "made a mistake" with cyclamate.
