With an Asiana Airlines Boeing 767 jet's touchdown at 4:46 yesterday morning, Incheon International Airport assumed its role as Korea's new gateway to the world in the 21st century.
As the first flight touched down on the runway, a storm of applause and cheers erupted in the airport's control tower.
``It is a great honor to become the first pilot to land at this new airport,'' said Capt. No Eun-sang, 42, who piloted Asiana Flight OZ3423 from Bangkok.
