SANFORD -- The West's only ongoing kosher meatpacking plant suspended operations after it was damaged by fire, a plant manager said Friday.
Clair Hull, manager of Rancher's Choice Cooperative Inc., said the fire destroyed several meatpacking stations, including a large cooler where carcasses were kept.
Hull said the electrical blaze erupted three weeks ago, causing ``a couple hundred thousand dollars'' in damage.
