Lake in the Hills is growing fast, but a sprawling metropolis it ain't.

Which makes the likelihood of its residents dwelling unnoticed and unknown, unlikely.

Still for at least three of the five candidates running for village trustee, their name, at this point in the game, is more likely to elicit a quizzical stare and a "Who?" than a nod of recognition.

Although he has attended village board meetings for the past six months, Steven Stahl, 31, acknowledged he is "a newbie."
