California-based innovator of medical implants, Advanced Bionics Corporation(R), today announced that its CLARION(R) CII Bionic Ear(TM) System received U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approval for the treatment of deafness in children and adults. The new bionic ear technology, which took five years and $30 million to develop, is approved for use in children and adults with profound hearing loss in both ears.
