READING OF ORIGINAL GRANT FROM CHARLES I OF ENGLAND

WILL HIGHLIGHT 350TH ANNIVERSARY OF GARDINER'S ISLAND

The grant from King Charles I of England that conveyed Gardiner's Island to Lion Gardiner will be read aloud on Sunday, April 23, at an East Hampton ceremony marking the 350th anniversary of the grant.

A high-ranking representative of the British government will read the grant.

The ceremony will be held at 11 a.m. at Lion Gardiner's Gothic mausoleum in East Hampton's South End Burying Ground. ...
