ISRAEL--Though Ariel Sharon's victory speech only touched on the direction Israel's new leader plans to take, a number of elements should be pleasant surprises to those expecting the worst from Sharon. Rather than saying that Oslo is "dead" as he did during the campaign, Sharon should grant that Oslo was a legitimate effort to test Palestinian intentions for peace.
However flawed Oslo may have been as an agreement, it laid the groundwork for Barak's unmasking of the Pale...
